You don’t have to search too long to find out some of the many Cat Care initiatives, Sassee has been
involved with over the years. From starring in full-featured documentary film to being featured in
National Newspapers, she has done it all, but how did it all start for SasseeCats?
Sassee’s love for animals was surely at birth, although there were some noticeable events in her life
which helped her get to the point where she is right now. Many may not be aware that Sassee had a dog which she adored named Gizmo. He was such a pivotal part of her life and part of the genesis of
SasseeCats.

The walks with Gizmo around the neighborhood really started Sassee on her Cat Care journey. Sassee, on her walks, was able to exercise one of the most critical pillars in Cat Care, becoming “Aware”. It did not take Sassee long, while walking Gizmo, to take notice of a cat problem in her neighborhood. As she still preaches today, “Act, Act, Act. Just don’t complain and talk about it. Do something”, she sprung right into action.
As a human, becoming Aware of the Cat community can almost immediately spell help for our feline
neighbors. Stray cats are in constant need of food and safe shelter, Sassee naturally begun setting out food for strays, many which she came to know rather quickly. Before long, she was able to identify and named them as her interest and help from them begun taking on new shapes.
“Why are there so many cats and kittens?” A question with a seemingly obvious answer. “The Cats are reproducing at an alarming unsustainable rate”. Sassee quickly became aware of the mystery and identified the female cat at the heart of the problem, a blank cat which she called “Mama”.
Over a short period of time, they got acquainted with each other in the streets and not long after Mama followed Sassee home. Since then, it’s been constant growth and commitment from Sassee regarding TNR services. She has and continue to demonstrate a level thoughtfulness, love, and care for cats, that knows no bounds.
